Regular running strengthens the muscles in your legs, and improves the workings of your lungs. It also strengthens the most important muscle - your heart. When you run, your heart is pumping blood faster - this supplies the brain with more oxygen which helps it work better. Plus, while your body is focused on running, your mind is left free, allowing you to think more clearly.
When you've been running for some time, your body starts working like a finely tuned machine. But to keep it tuned and in order to be running safely, you need to learn how to exercise properly before and after running.
